Destiny Caribbean Tours is formed by a young and multicultural team, with people from Spain, Argentina, Chile, Dominican Republic and Venezuela. Our experience in the tourism industry and deep knowledge of the Dominican Republic motivated us to undertake this adventure that today is our work and passion. We know how fortunate we are to work where others come to enjoy their vacations.
We are known for offering quality in each of the tours we organize. We work with small groups to guarantee a close and personalized attention. Our guides always accompany you during the excursions, even if you are only a couple. In addition, our professional photographers capture special moments that are then part of a free video report that we deliver to each client. All this, together with our punctuality, familiar treatment and affordable prices, are the values that define us.
Upon arrival at the airport you will have to pay for a tourist card for a value of US$10 or €10. You will receive two receipts, one of which you must keep until you leave the country. When leaving the Dominican Republic you will also have to pay an exit tax of US$20 or €20.
We have a very complete program of excursions in different regions of the country. You can choose from mountain adventures, ecological tours, cultural excursions, motorized activities, water sports, diving and much more. Always with the same attention to detail and quality service.
A UN report in 1968 ranked Bávaro's beaches among the best in the world. If you dream of white sand beaches, crystal clear waters and palm trees, we recommend visiting Punta Cana, Bávaro, Bayahibe or Las Terrenas. For a more natural and less touristy experience, you can explore Barahona, Pedernales or the impressive Bahía de las Águilas. If you prefer beaches close to urban centers and with more local life, consider Puerto Plata, Sosua, Cabarete, Boca Chica or Juan Dolio.
Not at all. The Dominican Republic also offers cultural tourism (it is the cradle of America with important colonial monuments), ecological tourism (rivers, mountains, extreme sports, hot springs), and business tourism (with convention centers and hotels prepared for events). Pico Duarte, the highest peak in the Antilles at 3,175 meters above sea level, is located here.
We recommend using sunscreen with a very high sun protection factor, even higher than the one you normally use. The sun on the beach is strong, although you may not always feel the heat. It is also advisable to bring insect repellent, especially if you are going to visit wetlands or natural parks.
Electricity in the country is 110-120 volts at 60 Hz, with American-style two-prong flat plugs. Although many hotels offer adapters, it is advisable to bring your own if you are coming from Europe or another region with a different voltage.
Because it combines a stable economy, a tourist offer that is constantly renewed, excellent infrastructure (airports in every tourist area, new roads and ports), security, hospitality and a large number of repeat visitors year after year. In 2012, it received more than 4.9 million tourists, well above other Caribbean destinations such as Cuba, Jamaica or Puerto Rico.
